Quite a non specific question , we cant say what exposure because the light levels change so rapidly, probably best to go for Aperture priority and dial in some exposure compensation as needed.

A reverse ND grad filter can be handy , as can a red filter.

Usually you have the time to play around while watcing sunsets develop.

I'd be inclined to reach for the dial straight away and bracket your shots, because almost invariably you end up with a high dynamic range which can just be too much for the average matrix metering algorithms.

Very kind of you to say. Mostly down to living in very pretty places and being 'in situ' for decent light.

Thats one thing that gets on my nerves with the Sony A200 - it does do bracketed exposures, but only up to +/- .7 (iirc).

I really, really need to sit down and get my head around HDR and bracketed exposures.

It might have a limitation, but you can override it, right? smile

The only options are +/- .3 or .7. Outside of that you're into totally manual territory ....

No firmware updates for it either, which is a cryin' shame.
