I know this is strange given the love on here for it, but how good is Forza 3, and also how does it compare to GT4?

Further to another post i've just made about buying an Xbox package (with Forza 3) i was wondering actually how good it is and specifically is a bit too arcadey (think Need 4 Speed) or more technical (like GT4)?

Right, em.....

It's the best driving game (physics wise) I have ever played.

It blows GT4 out of the water imo.

I've played both at a mates pad. I don't remember ever eagerly trying to play GT4 when I got there. I do remember constantly badgering to play Forza 3. In the end I caved and got a 360 and F3 myself.

Forza 3 is brilliant and is by far the best racer available at the moment, GT5 is going to have to be some game to better it.

Agree, it's awesome. But it's a squillion times better with a wheel than with a pad, IMO.

So can you undertaking tuning and customisation ala GT4 with increased power, set up and changed looks?

Yup, there's alot of choice how to tune and upgrade your car. Most things can be adjusted even minutely.

Finally someone in my own time zone to play against!

The game pisses all over GT4 in every possible way.

The tuning and customisation are silly fun on Forza....Everything from a few stickers and a set of rims to an Alfa Mito with the engine from an 8C in it and converted to RWD or a 900BHP MX5.

Look out for the new car releases once a month to.

Forza 3 is a great racing sim. As Forza 1 and 2 were. The choice of cars, tracks, attention to detail and tuning options makes it a very in depth game. The thing that sets it apart from earlier games in the Forza series and the GT series is, although it is an in depth racing sim, you can still 'pick up and play' if that's what you want. Which suits me down to the ground.

For how much you can pick it up for now, it's definately worth buying.

Definately go for it, as for upgrading cars etc just check out a few of the threads on here by me, Y2 and a few others, all those cars are built and painted from scratch.

You NEED to get some internet to play on just to take this game to another level, its a great game anyway, but online racing against friends, the auctions and marketplace give you some awesome paints to buy with ingame credits and all together make it superb.

We were discussing an awesome paint last night were one guy has made a Acura look like Heidfeld's F1 car, the detail is amazing.

I agree with the 90% of what is said here although I think there are two things that GT4 is better at. Firstly the loading times for Forza are mind numbingly tedious and secondly career mode is a bit lacking in variety. Otherwise I think its a better game.

It is the best racer out there by a country mile. But it's not better than GT4 in a number of ways.
