Aggression towards Porsches?

Scottster was telling me that he gets more sh1t from other drivers in his 993 C2 than his 964 C2.
It could just be the way he drives (at least 1g lateral force around roundabouts etc) or do different models attract different responses? Maybe newer ones attract more envy - or the real enthusiasts ones (like yellow GT2s) attract more respect?

I used to drive a really old and sh1t 911 RS years ago. Even at the time is was old and sh1t. I had tailgaters, road hogs and other idiots cut me up regularly - and I wasn't the world's most assertive driver either....
Now I drive a very new, very nice top spec Boxster 'S'. I now have tailgaters, road hogs and other idiots cut me up regularly - although I'm probably a more assertive driver these days

In addition when I have the roof down I get the odd obscene yell.
To counteract all that I get a good few nice comments too. I try to remember to thank people politely for compliments and rise above the other sort.
On the whole any negative actions/comments around me are worth it to have the car...

I drive a silver 993TT and regularly get cut up by white vans and black cabs 'cause I guess they think I'll give in rather that risk a scratch. The worst instance I can think of was one night when driving through Wallington, Surrey, at around 3am, some yob decided to stand in the road blocking my path and then proceeded to spit on my bonnet. Anyway, I ran him over and left him in the gutter moaning about a sore shin - he won't do that again!!
The main incident (although there have been many in my three weeks 993 motoring) was a trip to Portsmouth when I was 'enthusiastically' negotiating a roundabout. A Mondeo comes hurtling towards it from a slip road ahead (I obviously have right of way being on it already) and has to slam his anchors on as he's going too quick (was hoping to just slice across it)and wasn't expecting me to be coming round as quickly.
Anyway, about a mile up the road I'm now stopped at some traffic lights and I see him rapidly approaching in the mirror. He locks his brakes and slides to a smoking halt across my path, gets out of the car (massive fat bas**rd, we're talking 18 stone and 6"4'-Let me put it in perspective, I'm 5"4' and weighing in at 10 stone and my missus, who was also with me is 4"10' !!!)
He starts really going off (while I've already reversed 20 yards) and we're just mouthing that he's a f**kwit - Anyway, in fear that he may attack/hit/kick the car (would have worried about us given time to think but was more worried about my beautiful Porsche pannel gaps) I decided to test the clutch and rear tyres, which thankfully were in full working order and we left in a cloud of tyre smoke.
I have driven far less aggressively in the 993 (as I'm still getting used to it's handling) than in the 964 and never had any of this then. (The 964 was more easily recognised in Wycombe from the side than the front)

Ahhh.
I find that in both the TVR and the Porsche it is vitally important to assume that any and all other road drivers can and probably will pull out in front of you.
The reason being is that their car could not negotiate a roundabout/bend/other hazard at the same speed your Porsche/TVR/Lotus/other performance car is able to.
They therefore assume that you will come round the roundabout/bend/other hazard at the same speed as their Nissan effin Micra.
When you do not they are *shocked* that this could have happened, that their judgement of your speed was wrong and it MUST be your fault, of course it CANNOT have been theirs, because you're a flash git in a fancy sport car aren't you?
Grrrr. You just have to be able to clock these people ahead of time and avoid them either by slowing down or by being nowhere near them.
Because there's no changing them, I'm afraid.

I was driving down the a3 in my 348 when 2 16 year olds spat off a bridge all over my car. I know it was stupid but I saw red and doubled back and went looking for them. I eventually saw them walking past a bus stop and pulled up next to them, jumped out and said
"Hello boys, bet you didnt think you'd see me again", I then proceeded to rip ones t shirt off and the others cap off and calmly cleaned all the spit off my car whilst holding onto one of them.
I then threw their clothes down a hole that was being dug in the road.
The people at the bus stop looked on in amazment so I mentioned to them what the boys had been doing and they all joined in shouting at them. The boys looked like they were going to cry at this point so I let them go and reminded them not to do it again.

As far as I'm concerned I never met as apalling behaviours from other road users.

England, by the sounds of it. We never had a popular revolution ... lots of social issues unresolved.

Yer, it's the uneducated few that are brought up by parents with no respect and hence have none themselves. Problem is there seems to be more and more about. At only 27 I'm getting dangerously close to using the 'I didn't see this in my day' phrase... 
True tho, I know that all of my mates when younger would have appreciated a nice car, maybe even given a wave or tried to blag a quick ride.
I came out of the gym the other day and found a group of 12 year olds (ish) near my car, one of them even sat against my front wing! F**king muppets. Only takes one jeans rivet to require a panel respray.....

Had the Boxster this morning (third time ever - Emma loves this car) and an Astra GSi had a pop at me this morning going up the M45. Respect due to the Astra for even trying, although the spoiler on the ass being up obviously disguised that I was driving an S.
The look on his face when I dropped 2 cogs at a ton and left him for dust was a picture. Sadly for him, he also tried to take a roundabout at the same speed as me - watching him frantically trying to correct his understeer as he veered towards the kerb was pricless too ! Oh well, he lifted off and it came back in quick smartish.....

I think I get more disrespect from Boxster drivers than anyone else. I assume that large percentages are 'fashion victims' rather than enthusiasts. Although, most fail to read the inscription on the back before passing judgment... It is of course fun showing them…

Boxster drivers unite! With evangelical fervour we must rise! Rise I tell you. And convert the uneducated drivers of other models. (And similar rantings.....). If they will not learn they must be...(etc etc). Oi. I've got no idea why my favourite Porsche (and I could have bought a 996 - I just didn't, although I may one day) has got a bad reputation...
