Youll get infinitely better breathing capabilities from the cosworth head.
More air in =more fuel to burn with it= more power.
However, id be inclined to do a bottom end rebuild first, or an inspection at the very least before "going for it".
Youll need new throttle bodies/carbs (weber 40's) to bolt on also.
The cams will most likely be set up for a turbocharger so they wont work as well on an n/a engine.
What have you got in mind for this idea?

You cant just put a cossie head on the pinto, it's a lot more involved than just that i'm afraid. I looked into doing it and gave up and bought the cossie engine instead.
You'll need new pistons to raise the compression to a reasonable level. The head will need a huge amount of porting to get reasonable flow. As has been stated you'll need new cams as turbo ones are no good for nat asp. I seem to remember you also need a new aux shaft pulley but i cant remember why now.
Exhausts are (or were) a problem as well, the pinto manifold wont fit.
Sorry to put a downer on your idea. It's possible to do but not easy or cheap. There's a section on doing it in the back of Des Hammills "How to power tune the Ford SOHC" book.
cheers,
Kevin

Agree with what sweatysock says.
Theres a lot of problems. Put a 1.6 litre pinto head on it instead.
This is a direct swap and will have much better port velocities than the standard two litre head.
The reason being that the 2.0 litre and 1.6 when fitted to their respective engines have ports that are way too large, so they have a poor port velocity.
Putting the 1.6 pinto head onto a two litre will give good results as the 1.6 litre ports are smaller so youll get a better cylinder fill for the same intake valve-open period.
Try it, youll like it!

Thanks for the advice, I have a 2.0L TVR, (original engine)only a few were made and most of those have had engine changes. So I was trying to keep to the Pinto theme. I have changed the carb to twin webers. and changed the manifold to 4-2-1.
I have decided to keep the original engine for now (because its a rare beast) but may try the 1600cc head. I did have access to the 1800cc head, I could try both. Its for fun, I was only after an increase in horses, even small ones, so next to go will be the water pump and replace with electric version (2-3 bhp)electric fan (2-3 bhp)and so on.
