S2 airfan direction controller

I had a new heater resistor pack fitted back at the start of the year and all has been running fine (no air con- just blown air system).

Over the last week though the air direction knob seems to be playing up and is intermittent in its function. Fan sounds loud and strong, but air may be stuck to the feet in the main, and not hitting the windscreen/front openings.

Thoughts or advice please?

Maybe lube as above link?

I notice a comment re the tights to stop the mess being blown through...now that would be nice...many do it? Also, where does that grit etc go if not into the cabin?

I've yet to investigate, but any other thoughts pls?
