I have just had my Tracking done by a well known Ford owned (and selling) tyre/exhaust/battery etc place, but the car still doesn't feel right! I get smatterings of tramlining on the odd occasion, some times the car feels like it wants to drift one way or the other and just generally doesn't feel sorted! I had them check the bushes and ball joints etc on the front wishbones, (they are new, they still have the damn label on!) and they did my tracking for £20! Should I go back and ask them to do it again! I thought it was just me and that I would need to do 'adjust' the new wheel alignment and handling characteristic, but it was done on Easter Saturday, I have done 1800 miles since and it hasn't felt right all week! I drove a sorted car and thrashed the knackers of it for 20-30 minutes mid-week last week, getting back in my car it felt awfull! I can't get anywhere near the limits because it just doesn't behave right. Anyone got any ideas/suggestions on what to check?!?!

Cheers
Stuart!

If you've only had the tracking done I'd recommend visiting somewhere that does four wheel alignment, camber, castor, toe and offset on all four corners.

We use a laser kit in our workshop which gives you a full print out of before and after settings.

Cheaper option would be to try swapping tyres around the car to see if this has any effect. Might not cure it but could show up a problem.

Good luck.

Could be the rear suspension that is at fault.
You didnt say what your car is, but many modern cars have a degree of rear end steering induced by loadings on the bushes of the rear suspension. As the car gets older the bushes wear and you get more rear end steering giving that tramliny feel.

Think you've just found the source of your problem!

Are the replacement tyres a different make / model to the original tyres?

Had my tracking done at another national centre and had the same problem, just didn't feel right. This was soon confirmed by rubber disappearing fast from one side of the tyres!
Didn't trust the same monkeys again so had it sorted by the main dealer. Similar price, job done properly.
Had fun knocking it out of line, couldn't avoid the kerb with all 4 wheels off the ground!
