I know it had a difficult birth but if any of you guys still have it, get it upgraded and get the CAAA mods, ACE2 mods and give it another go. The game showed so much promise and now it is starting to show it with the very clever community modders.

It is what BFBC2 should have been, in keeping with still their best game, the original BF1942 with the Desert Combat addon. Proper huge battles with everything on the battlefield, arty, jets bombers helos armour and then all the many different infantry units.

Any way, what has most impressed me recently has come from some crazy chap and his missle weapons, guidance and command systems. It is very geeky but if you like this sort of thing, his work is very impressive.

Some vids of the playable demonstations of his systems and the download can be seen here http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=89912.

Dig it out and have a go.

I already have it and want to give it a shot but my PC really struggles with it and it's essentially unplayable. New gaming laptop arrives in a couple of weeks so I'm quite interested to see how it'll hold up to this game and Crysis etc etc that I've just not been able to play.

Can't wait really!

Yeah still play it quite a bit just been making my own missions. Some of the scripts people are writting are damn impressive looking forward to the WW2 mod.

Yeah, my system struggles and 4gb of Ram duel core Athlon, 2 256gb nvidia cards can't quite cope with some of the big missions.

The Mando missle stuff is very good though, the demonstrations of his command station is very impressive, call in air cap, then call in a recon plane, spot where the enemy tanks are then bring in laser guided bombs, cruise missiles, carpet bombings and really clever things like mine dropping gunships etc, good fun. You can then bring in ground troops, get them to fast rope in then get your choopers to airlift in some arty and humvees!

A very clever person.

I've just had a go at the soon to be released Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead demo - http://store.steampowered.com/app/33930

Graphically looks great, but clunky game play and convoluted key mapping which you need 3 hands to use on mouse/keyboard if you don't start changing it all around and a not very user friendly save function.

yeah, it has always been like that, but i think because of the simulation element they could not simplify it anymore, i think there is still a button to salute, look at your watch and sit down hehe

Unfortunately, Arrowhead does not seem to run on my machine that well, the old hector is getting on, i saw on dabs the processor up from mine (top of the range at the time being sold for £35 hehe

Still, some cracking mods out there.

I gave up re-mapping the keys when I got to the option to "scratch bum".

I was able to run it completely maxxed out with all display/video settings though.

I play BF2 Project reality which is brilliant (albeit very dated and buggy), Is the teamwork and game play similar?

Can't tell with the demo it's too short and limited, and I don't play mutliplayer.
