Wife's birthday coming up and I'm normally banned from buying household equipment but she loves cooking especially since the new kitchen 2 years ago. Her Kenwood chef (or whatever it is) is looking very sad and some of the attachments are broken so I thought I might treat her to the kitchen equivalent of a garage toy.

I like the look of the Kenwood KM040 but they don't seem available anywhere.

Any other recommendations appreciated

I'd suggest a Kitchenaid (be prepared to get your wallet out) if she's primarily a baker / cake-maker.

A Magimix for anything else.

Again, be prepared to get your wallet out. :-)

I have the Kitchenaid listed above in red. Does amazing mash potatoes.

I've got a Magimix 5200. Well worth the money.

Magimix. 4200 here, replacing a Kenwood. No regrets.

ETA- though it might not be the best birthday present. Do check, or I forsee an "How do you remove a Magimix..." thread.
