Is there anywhere to park very cheaply/free within a quick bus journey or walk across a field near this airport? it's all sort of industrial estates isn't it?

just for a tuesday-thursday in august

Nowhere nearby for free anymore, the new terminal/road layout really put paid to that.

There used to be parking on the perimeter road, but that all stopped when the multi story opened there.

It is industrial estate, but last time a mate parked in there and decided to walk it his car was elsewhere when he got back. Apparently they don't like strange no belgium registered cars being abandoned there.

If you've a half decent car, pay for parking in Charleroi.

just looked on google maps, there's a big Carrefour just along the road - what do you reckon the chances there are of being towed away?

If it's Ryanair you're probably only talking about a fiver!

If you left your car (with a UK reg) parked in a supermarket over here (Gent) it would almost certainly be removed. I don't know what they would do with a Belgian-registered car.

Is it really worth the risk of ruining your trip?
