Well, just sold my Focus RS to fund the purchase of a T350.

But, it was bloody hard. Was gutted to see her go. Couldn't sleep last night

I'm hoping I won't regret it and TVR ownership will have at least he same impact on me.

Going back to str8six on Saturday to view the Blue T350 and give her a test drive.

Please tell me I've done the right thing, put my mind at ease...

Str8Six have an excellent reputation, I'm sure they'll look after you well. Which is important to deal with the inevitable lows in life with a TVR - and as soon as you've experienced the highs you won't care, anyway.

You are doing the right thing...

when you put your foot to the floor in the 350, or even just start the ignition and the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, you will realise

Focus is very accomplished but it cant touch a TVR for the experience

and +1 for Jason and the guys at Str8 Six, they are the best around.

Cliff - I see your putting in a lot of research and have a lot of questions on this over the last few weeks (maybe months )

That's a good way to do - go in with your eyes open, don't expect it to be like your GF's Mini One or any other EuroBox but do expect it to blow your bloody mind

Bought my T350 5 weeks ago, so far it's spent 3 weeks back at the garage being fixed, and of the 5 possible weekends I've had it for 1 without a garage visit.

Don't worry. When I bought mine in October 2008 it went back to the garage twice in the first month and then I lost it for 3 months whilst a bottom end rebuild was carried out under warranty.
10'000 miles later, apart from a new alternator and routine servicing all has been well!

Thanks guys - I cant wait, although i will have a have too. Just been to the bank to get some funds (stocks and shares) and they said it will take 5 days for them to send me a cheque grrrrr

The one Jason has at str8six is lovely and he is willing to give it a 12 month warranty for full asking price. So will take her back for a service before the warranty runs out and get anything sorted FOC

Hopefully i'll soon be the proud owner of a lovely Red Bull Blue T350c, cant wait to go one of your meets and meet you fine people

Went from a slightly breathed on 2006 Focus ST to a T350T 6 months ago. Apart from replacing the battery (which was 6 years old) it has been fantastic.

Yes, a Ford Focus (ST / RS) over a 1-10 year period is likely to have less garage time than a TVR and leave a smaller dent in your wallet; Ford is a mass producer with billions of pounds invested in R&D ...... (etc, etc, etc!)

Yes, every now and again the little devil (right at the back of your mind) reminds that this is a small manufacturer, low production supercar with a high-revving hand-built engine.

BUT:

- 0-60 in 4.4 secs, 175+mph
- Iconic and rare British supercar
- Little for under £60-100K goes like it or looks like it
- Is a special event every time you pop the door and fire up the engine
- Turns heads like little else on the road - it is a show-stopper
- Engine note is outstanding at idle and as the revs climbs gets even better
- It is a raw, connected and thrilling experience behind the wheel
- You will want to drive it all the time
- Respected as a true PH'ers car - goodwill from other road users
- The best examples are now holding rock steady (slightly increasing) values
- Genuinely makes you smile like an idiot and feel special when you have saved hard to own one and then finally get to drive it any time you so please!

Choose a good one, warm it up religiously, use a recommended TVR specialist, drive (and detail - sorry OCD coming out!) the damn thing as much as possible.

YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT....................!

Just about to sell my Tuscan after 2 1/2 great years - changed the battery (my fault) and a few cosmetic niggles but otherwise just tyres and servicing.

Buy wisely (as it sounds like you are) and it will be one of those experiences that you will look back on and think 'now that was a car'.

Will be back in a TVR one day......thinking maybe a LS? engined one in a few years - never had a V8!

Great post - just 'bout sums up the emotional experience owning a TVR is!

Have LOTS of fun, and book yourself onto the Wet Grip at Rockingham that is advertised in SPRINT magazine so that you get used to how the car reacts in a safe environment - it's good fun and very informative too.

Enjoy the car - build up to max attack and learn it's foibles, and have fun
