Linking to images on Flickr...

Is there any way to do this properly?

Flickr give you the HTML code to use...

But there's no way (that I can see/workout) to use this/the usual alternative PH code for it to work...

It would be great if we could post a clickable thumbnail, which takes you to the picture page, rather than just the image...

ie, Clicking this...



...would take you...

Sussed it, kinda...

"img" tags work...

but "thumb", and "pic" tags don't... they just link you to the image itself, not the page url...

What would it take to get "thumb" tags to work?

You've figured out the right way of doing it, IMG tags wrapped in URL tags. Unfortunately due to the way that pic and thumb tags work, it is not possible to make it click through to somewhere else at the moment.

Can I ask why you are so keen to do this?

Fair enough, I didn't know Flickr had that in their terms, it seems most people just ignore it. Is it an obligation or just a guideline?

Anything posted using IMG will resize to a maximum of 750px and then shrink to a 200px thumb when quoted, so using IMG is fine.

Hmmm, it appears the thumbnail, smaller size can be done... by using the "Available Sizes" of the Flickr page...

It's a bit faffy, but can be done...
