Need some advice / thoughts on what you guys think of the Nissan 300ZX
I have a friend who is thinking of buying one. It'll most likely be a 1994ish import. Any ideas what bad things to look out for on them and what tail end mods are available?
Would love to buy another car myself, but having spent the last 6 months in the ranks of the unemployed it's just not on the cards! Will be letting you know when i'm looking again though.....!!!

My li'l bro' bought one last week. Haven't seen him since. I assume this is a good thing.
Take a look on www.twinturbo.net/ for advice & probs. Its predominantly an American site but when you've got around "Here's a picture of Chuck and Renee in their 1991 stage II ZX", there is some useful info.
One thing that has been mentioned to my bro' so far is: the engines have TWO oil filters. The usual one and a small one connected to the block somewhere that (I believe) supplies the turbos. Make sure that this one has been changed as non-specialists may not know about it and you may end up with a bill for a couple of replacement turbos...

My mate has one tuned to 450 by a local guy he knows, although the intercooler/oil cooler hasn't been uprated, just had the boost turned up - poor thing! Wouldn't fancy buying a modded version unless you fancy some hefty repair bills down the line. Too many people seem to 'uprate' these jap cars on the cheap. Good fun while it lasts though!

Zeds are excellent value for money, but do require deep pockets to run. You need to find a specialist in your local area to help look after it.
