S1 exhaust wanted

Hi,i am new to tvr ownership and fancied a S1 for a bit of fun,and the fact that my old vw bay window does not quit have the same performance( has a better bed though LOL )
Unfortunately it looks like the baffles have now gone.
Does anybody have a second hand one for sale ? I cannot afford a new one this year because i am doing our house up,so a second hand one will do till i save up and get a brand new one .

If its just the baffles I understand that you can get the box cut open and restuffed with wadding.
Sure somebody will come along and advise you more on this.

Thanks,just had a look and it appears to have been done before judging by the brazing on the underside of the baffle box.

More likely thats when they were removed to make it LOUDER

It is quite easy to cut open the box and repack it, so long as you can weld or know a friendly welder.
I did mine last year, replaced the wadding in the rectangular bit, and replaced the perforated tube (it had cracked and was rattling)and wadding in the front oval section.

Cost me about £20 for tube, £20 for wadding, £10 for new stainless top plates and part of a roll of stainless MIG wire and the gas. Funnily enough, repacking it and replacing the tube made the engine LOADS more resposnsive...

The 2.8i is more raucious anyway.
I Blew the baffles out of my exhaust 8 years ago and it now sounds just right.
I don't think they are expected to last very long and are not an mot issue.
I would just enjoy the symphony from 3000 to 5000.

Just a quick question again,do i need to put the stuffing back in after repairing the baffles?

I doubt you would notice the difference in performance if there is any, and it may well go better with the wadding in place.
It might seem slower with less noise though!
