What Have you done on your S this Weekend

Hi All.
Just got the wheel arch done for the wire wheels, not much to do to get it to fit.
Only big mod is to space out the caliper to spokes with a 20mm spacer.

That looks drastic Alan! Not sure if I'd be brave enough to do a mod like that.

Personally I took the coil, alternator and it's bracket off to clean them up over the next week and whlst I was at it adjusted the tappets. All got a bit clattery after the runway blasting at SCH!

Should have been a simple job that took no longer than an hour, and it was until one of the rocker cover bolts snapped as I was doing it up

Now a quick job is going to take a lot longer.

Hmmm... No comparison really. But I moved the coil off the plenum and onto the nearside bulkhead.
Oh and drove it a bit

How tight were you doing them up?

On mine - fixed the cooling fan, but that's another thread

Drove mine to Stratford. Wonderful.

Checked all the fluids etc and went to watch the racing at Snetterton on Sunday. Really enjoyed the day and got very sunburnt(again)

Erm, checked my brakes and had a post refit drive which just happened to be in Cardiff tunnels.

Put old Koni's (original ?) back on, Avo's going back factory to hopefully cure squeaking. feels a bit "wobbly" think they must be past there best, when they come back off may just drop the springs off to see how much damping is left in them ?

Despite marking the distributor before taking it out a little while ago I've not been happy with the timing but had another twiddle yesterday and think its about bang on now.

Finally I've been swapping a lot of "un-stressed" bolts and nuts for stainless steel, body and fuel tank mounts etc.

And inbetween managed a couple of "test drives"

I've turned my single garage into a double!!!!

Since the s is down the body shop I decieded to free up some floor space in my garage.These are suspended racks bolted through the ceiling joists(integeral garage) and will carry 75kg.They measure 3ft by 3ft giving 9sq ft extra floor space, five units in all giving a total of 45sq ft extra sq footage.



So now I have a little more space to play!

A mite too tight me thinks!

Personally I didn't think I was doing them up that tight but I was obviously wrong! Now I have to decide if i'm brave enough to get it out myself or if I'm going to wave the little white flag and take it to my local indy.
