Anyone had any experience with Privilege Insurance? Just spoke to them regarding there supposed track day cover. They tell me they do not cover track days although when I purchased the policy I was told I was covered for track days!!!! I should have leistered to the rumours about Privilege. Although I have just spoke to the complaints department and they are willing to give me a refund in 7 days if I find an alternative insurer. I did point out to them that they do monitor there calls and I would like to listern to the call I made when I took the policy out.

I had a quote off them yesterday. The chap said they covered any track day, doesn't have to be a tvr one. Then I did the online quote at directline, and its was £200 less ?? Bizzare as I was told privilege was the high risk insurance part of direct line. Anyway, I rang directline & found their cover doesn't include track days. When i told em the privilege policy did, the said i'd been 'miss-informed' & no directline/privilege policy will cover track days unless you're an existing customer renewing the policy.... It does seem the underwriters right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Even when I phoned Tesco insurance, who seem to be the same underwriters, they said they cover track day insurance.

It could be that the munchkin you asked about 'Track days' looked up in his manual under 'Racing & Time Trials' I've got to believe that in insurance co's the customer service (ie cost-generating) people are even thicker / cheaper than the sales staff that are revenue-generating
