The Tory party had agreed for one of their ministers to appear on QT tonight. After finding out Alastair Campbell would be on the panel, the Tories asked for him to be bumped from the show. The BBC refused.

Tory minister has pulled out of the show.

Oh dear.

They've got Campbell in a room with Piers Morgan, where's Al Qaeda when you need them?

From the BBC website:

"Parties are free to accept or reject those invitations but they do not have a right of veto over other panellists. Licence fee payers rightly insist that the BBC must be free from political interference."

Couldn't they send Adam Bolton instead?

Who elected this Alastair Campbell anyway?

I think this shows the lack of confidence the Tories have. Campbell is easy to rile and often loses his rag and shows his ar5e. Any half competent politician should be able to show him up. Pathetic show by the Tories.

I believe the governments demand that AC be removed from the panel makes them look a right bunch of s. Whether AC is a tt or not and regardless of whether he is right or wrong he can only express his opinion and is perfectly entitled to do so, just as those two journo muppets did the other week. It should have ben up to the government participant to put across their point effectively and counter his arguments. Heseltine and Hughes appeared quite effective last week.

It's karma.

Time to bury ac into political insignificance

Best make it clear to the bbc that the coalition will no longer play there little game.

And then announce that the licence fee is to be abolished in 2 months time

Happy Days.
