What a FAB idea! Buying/Selling?

Its seems to me that there are a number of folk looking for TVRs. Indeed, we are looking for a S6 Cerbera. There are also a number of folk trying to sell them.

The problem, it seems, is that the ones that might be of interest are soooooooo far away that its just not feasible to travel for say, a whole day to look at just one car.

How about having a PH meet that includes a buy/sell area so if you're selling you take your car along and if you are looking for one, its worth the trip knowing that there will be a few of what you're looking for to see?

Raceproved are selling a S6 Cerb - you could probably buy it unseen with there info on condition etc...
I agree that its a good idea. Chatsworth and other events could be the best way?

I drove from Glasgow to York to look at the T350c that I ultimately bought, because it looked right and felt right. Went up and down in one day to look/drive. Then got it inspected and then went by train Glasgow-Edinburgh-York-local to collect. Car is fantastic and don't look back at the journeying involved. It was from a dealer and has a warranty which is different from a private sell though.

Last year me and swmbo went up to Northampton from the south coast to look at an Aston. I was'nt sure that i would like the colour as i had only seen that colour on a DVD. I was prepared to just pull up and drive away if i did'nt like it. As it happened, it looked a million dollars drove well, so i did a deal and drove back up to collect the car after it had been inspected and serviced the next week. Had a great drive home and got to know the car, so yes it can sometimes be worth a long drive to get the right car.

Just like the last couple of posters, I drove from Herfordshire up to Norfolk too see a T350. However, I had pretty much decided I wanted the car, based mainly on colour and condition, but also on price and history. And I did buy it. There had been others I would have liked to look at, and possibly even buy, but the pictures and story had obviously not been enough to persuade me to make the trek, and I might have missed out on a cracker as a result, but just didn't have the time to see them all. So, I reckon the OP's suggestion is excellent!

... now, who's going to arrange a similar meeting for new fathers who have sold their TVR's and are now looking for a dull, sensible diesel four-seater with isofix and a large boot?
