Hi all. I have a D300 and have just bought a D300s. The 300 works fine, however I cannot mount the D300s on the computer (Mac 10.5.8). I have tried it through Nikon Transfer, and yes, have been able to download the files from the card, but still the card does not display on the desktop, and even more concerning, neither Photoshop cs3 or Nikon NX capture will open the RAW files from the D300s. (Both programs have no problem opening the RAW files from the D300). I've looked for RAW updates on the adobe website, but it seems I'm totally up to date (other than it being CS3 and not CS5). Any advice is welcomed, and promptly would be appreciated. Thanks.

Eeek, I'll let you know if we have a problem as we got one this morning - we do run CS4 here though.

It seems neither adobe or Nikon provide a driver for RAW NEF file opening in CS3. CS4 and upwards. So you have to use the Adobe free DNG converter before opening the files. A pain for sure.

I'd be interested to know if anyone with Mac 10.6 running, and a D300s could confirm that the camera will mount on the desktop, as I'm not too keen on using Nikon transfer to download from the card and if 10.6 does work, it would be a good reason for me to upgrade. Thanks.

Nikon tell me, if I use a card reader instead of directly mounting the card via the camera, the card should mount just like it does with the D300. Bit annoying.

I had the same problem using a 2009 Macbook Pro and my D300S. I use Lightroom 3 and it couldn't see the RAW files. I did a software update for Lightroom and also a 'RAW compatibility' update from Apple. All works fine now!
