Spring Rates

I know this has probably been done before and I have searched all other threads on the subject, but what spring rate do you guys reccomend ? I am looking at getting some Gaz golds soon from ab shocks, and derek advised on 375 fr and 300 rr and increase the fr to 425 for track work which is what I am looking at, so do I go for 425fr and 300rr or what else do you think ?

I have the standard Gaz shocks running 325f 275r and based on what I have read here and my own experience I intend to try stiffer springs. I plan to fit 450f and move the 325 from front to rear.

To save me taking the springs off before I buy new ones can anyone confirm that the Gaz shocks use 2.25" internal diameter 9" Free Length springs?

I have 450fr & 375rear on my Gaz shocks.

I used mine for sprint racing/hillclimbing and these rates have been fab.

A bit hard on normal road use, but livable with (& great for country lane 'spirited driving' - all within legal speed limits of course ).

The spring size stated is also correct.

Hi Tony.

I run 450F 375R on my V8S and I find it very supple and not at all uncomfortable. Ride quality is improved over the 375F 300R supplied with my Gaz dampers. I realise the V8S/S4 suspension with wider track is slightly different to others, but I doubt that makes a significant difference.

Ralph - my Gaz came with 8" front and 9" rear springs (in Jan 2009).
