Bad paint jobs!
Discussion
My car 1 year old in brilliant rosso pearl......, but. Loads of probs with fading colour. Couple of minor(ish) dings to body meant re-sprays etc. Never even close. Going back to Blacpool shortly for possibly total re-spray. Anybody had similar experience? What should I expect from Mr Wheelers guys? P.S. My dealer Chris Neil done everything could to sort problem out.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. I believe that rosso pearl has historically been a difficult colour to paint and match. The first customer Tuscan I saw was in this colour, as was a friend's Chimaera. The paint jobs on both clearly showed the pattern of the spray gun across the bonnets. In the latter case, the paint was uneven and looked pink/silverish is some parts.
I think if you search PHs, you may find that TVR have replaced some of the red paints with newer versions supposedly less prone to finishing problems and fading. Fish and Mrs Fish's T350 is going to be repainted in one of the new colours in the future (not sure that they had problems with current paint, I think its just cosmetic). Maybe a complete respray is the most satisfactory solution to get it right.

I believe this to be New rosso pearl version 3(ish), but still got that silvery/pink swirl as you explain TUS 373. Possibly will get new paint job, but should I change the colour to another red? Can I trust rosso pearl? I had a chim in an older version. The whole paint job went pinkish, but at gleast it did this evenly and looked quite good.
I belive they are not using Rosso Red Pearl any more, due to the fading problems & subsequent warranty claims see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=76597&f=13&h=0&hw=rosso+pearl
