best way to fix to my pole?

just bought a tvr flag and wippy pole thingy, and would like some advice from others who have these on the best way to secure the said flag to the pole.

flag has a pressed eyelet at the top and bottom, so assume cable tyes with something like gaffer tape to stop it blowing away within 10 seconds?

any sensible suggestions/solutions welcome.

Its not securing the flag to the pole thats the problem Clive, I had my flag on a carp pole and like you said, a couple of cable ties which are slid onto the pole and a bit of gaffa tape to stop it lifting off the pole when it whipped about.

The problem is keeping the damned pole upright.

I dug a small hole and dropped it in then tied the pole to a couple of my tent pegs and one of a mates with a line also taken to a tree for a washing line.

How about having a bit of pipe just a bit larger (Wide) than the pole, bash that in the ground with a big hammer then put pole in that.

I hammer a cheap fishing bank stick in to the ground and slot the pole over that. I use tie wraps on the flag and pole.

thanks guys, keeping the pole up for me is not a problem , will make an ally tube for it to pop and clamp into with a plate at the bottom which can go under the rear wheel.

Oh well done to remind me, thanks. I bought off internut a wonderful telescopic pole for Le Mans Classic 08, and we were trackside at Maison Blanche, so the DRAI GOCH flew with honour over the track. Moving on a year, son took it to that Diesel thing at Le Mans last June, and it returned broken ... I can't find a good LOW COST replacement for the big event in July, any clues please guys?

You can buy small bungees on ebay that are designed for this, they just wrap around the pole and through the eyelet. About £1 each I think, I got mine from the same place on ebay that I got the poles.
