New seats, can anyone help?

I have just bought these Chim seats http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1655210.htm for the S1 which will go in after I have fitted the new carpet. They are in good condition but do need a good clean (they are ingrained with dirt etc). I have been looking at the liquid leather site for some products but do not know the colour code. Are they Magnolia (code V0541 on their site)?

Can anyone help?

Hi Steve, if you are not looking to re-colour the seats then all you need is a good cleaner / conditioner. Liquid leather do both of these, but I prefer the ones sold by zaino, 2 fantastic products.

A while back this post talked about the magic eraser.
I did give them a go and then treated the leather to a good leather conditioner.

I have had a go with those erasers and while they really bought the vinyl door cards up well I fear that the seats will need someting a bit stronger

I found that Oxy-action spray and a nail brush was superb. Once clean and dry then treat well with leather feed

So I have the carpet and the Chim seats, all cleaned and looking nice and come the weekend the trimming starts. I cant wait to get stuck in but have to make sure I don't rush things. I have a few before pics and will take some after pics and try and post on here.

As long as the new seats fit ok I will have a couple of cream S seats for sale, the drivers is knackered and would need re doing but the passenger is in good condition (cream with red piping) again I will get some pics on here after the job has been done

Any last minute tips or advice would be great, especially as to what to use to fit the new seats to the body or should I just use the old nuts and bolts??

New nuts certainly - nylocks are not designed/intended to be re-used.

Oh, and do make sure you get the penny washers on both sides of the floorpan to spread the loading. New penny washers wouldn't be a bad idea as would new bolts.

Other than that seat changing is a twenty minute job.

Cheers Stu will ger new nuts and bolts, can you get nyloc nuts anywhere, hardware shops, B&Q, Halfords etc? I have never used them before.

They are readily available - all they are is a standard nut with a nylon insert in the later half of the thread to stop it becoming loose under vibration. Screwfix will carry them but maybe in too big a bag. Most hardware stores/motor factors should have them in stock - they are a standard fixing.

I think you need M8 or M10 maybe - you have the new seats which may have studs/bolts already fitted from which you can see what size is required.
