Anyone with half a brain knows that the country is f***ed for the next 10 years or so to pay back the borrowing that Winky took out. Unless people really do think that we can spend and spend and spend on public services without any requirement to pay it back...

The country needs to get the message: Labour think they can solve any problem just by throwing money at it.

I'm sure we/you/I do know too.

So let the OP post the '84-'97 stats from his/her source and lets have a chat about them.

Edit...the OP just did.

if you want to post data from 84 feel free, i haven't. the data i posted shows what nulab inherited, where we were pre recession and where we are now. if you want to critique the thatcher government based on what she inherited feel free but im afraid i was way too young to remember any of that.

I'm sure I just posted this, but it hasn't come up.

They can't make publish the true figures, otherwise it would play hell with the markets.

Proper full scale hell.

Only as long as it's our money and it's Labour voters receiving it i.e. doleys and parasite public sector types.

Qualified Lead Auditor here.

Ill do it for free smile

And Jules, auditing the Uk 84-97 has been done, many many times. The result is an almost unanimous verdict of a massive increase in wealth, productivity, asset value and cash flow. The one area where that is not the case is manufacturing. Unfortunately manufacturing in the UK quite simply shot itself in the foot during the previous 2 decades to 84. The total investment across the industry was incompetently low, the quality of management input was tragically comic and by the early 80s the only outcome was going to be a literal decimation of the manufacturing base. All of which saddens me greatly as I have a personal and professional stake in it.
