Boot racks

Hi going on a golf holiday soon so I was thinking of using a boot rack on my Tuscan. Anyone used one before, not sure if the boot lid is strong enough, what do you think?

I imagine you're right, that the bootlid isn't robust enough...reminds me of the time i was a newby on here and asked about using a bike rack on my Tuscan...oh how they laughed,they thought i was demented (which i am)!

Oh well it looks like I'll have to take to the sweeping country lanes of dorset in the Transit then.

Bike racks have been mounted on the back of TVR 'Wedges'...all the way to Le Mans and back.

Towbars fitted too. shpub has one on his car.

But then us Wedgers ARE slightly mad.

Can't you just get everything you need in the boot itself?

I regularly golf with my Tuscan and we easily get 2 full sets of clubs and trolleys in the boot no bother.

With a bit of careful packing, we can get 2 bags & trolleys and still squeeze the roof + rear screen in as well.

Some malleable holdalls for clothes or use the space behind the seats (which easily takes 2 small / 1 medium suitcase) and you'll be away.

personally, I wouldn't trust the boot to hold any more weight than itself particularly when moving.
