Outrigger question

Hi, Does anybody know the size of the tubing used on the outriggers on the S1 ? Can anybody recommend a good supplier ?

It's 1.5" or 38mm od with at least 1.6 mm wall....just done mine, and got the tube from a local engineering company..£10 for a 3m length.

I had to repair the front tube behind the front wheel and about a foot of the side rail (had rusted through where the corner plate meets the tube). I got a local engineering company to turn me 2 section of round bar down to 35mm, and knocked them in to the bits where I cut it back to good metal, to give it a strong joint and help with the tube alignment. ....

The youngest lets me borrow his elise but they dont have the character or the soundtrack and are even worse than Tivs on potholed roads (Northumberland council are a disgrace in their attitude to road repairs).

A bit pointless really considering that the whole chassis is made of ERW in the first place.

Jed, outriggers are most at risk to corrosion - mine were split along the seams as well as holed along the full length
