How many are there?

Pennie (his other half - that's me) wants to know how many TVR's there are in the UK. Does anyone know roughly?

Well this'll give you an idea just how many are on PH. I'd imagine that there are a good few more (possibly double) that are not users on here.

If you look at the MOT figures for 2007 on the VOSA site you can get the number that were put in for an MOT in 2007. Then add an amount for cars made post 2004 that didn't yet require an MOT.

You get to just over 10,000 TVRs on the road in the UK in 2007. There will be a few off the road as well along with a few abroad.

This number will have gone down in the last three years.

so i wonder how many we lose a year 5%? that would leave us somewhere around 8500 give or take. anyone have that chart ive seen on here on production figures for each model?

Yes that chart would be good to have and it would be even better if it had a break down of LHD and RHD models...........

Thanks Tony, so now I have a build list and just need a break down of left and right hand drives. (as if TVR recorded when they built LHDs. When you are back in Germany or just in your many travels I may need you to be on the lookout for something that is left handed and pre 1998. But don't send any info until I know what the Spousal Unit has her eyes on next. Had both V8s about 100 miles north of us for a car show today and we were told "next time don't park so close to the display area as people are going outside the barricades to look at our cars." Chelsea didn't take her supercharged 2500M as she thought the traffic would be too busy for her to drive.

Tony: I have been in contact with Alvise and I think he is doing a bang up job with his site. If this economy in Calgary would turn around for me then I will be interested in having help from his blog or from people who may have access to available for sale LHD TVRs to import, something up to a 1998 model. If things don't turn around then I will just have to manage with the 3 cars that we have at the moment and Carly will have to settle on a [-] Porker {/-] German brand sportscar until Sherry and I hang up our keys to our V8 TVRs and the girls take ownership of the cars. Had Chelsea out in my car a couple of weeks ago and she put it sideways but stayed on the road, so I know it will be awhile before they get those cars passed down to them. Will send you an e-mail of the 3 cars posters that we had made up for the car shows.

As mentioned severel times this list shouldn't be taken as 'gospel' and is a 'best guess' as it's clearly wrong with some of the later cars such as Sagaris numbers etc. TVR weren't fastidious with their record keeping and at one time all the Griffith, Chimaera and Cerbera chassis numbers where combined so it's difficult to know precise numbers.
