E55K AMG Supercharger cuts out quickly

I hope this makes sense, but this is my first Kompressor Mercedes and I have found after only a few fairly quick blasts along dual carriageways for example the car loses power until it is 'rested' for a few mins and then the power is resumed. Is it normal to happen to quickly?
Thanks
Do you have a faulty supercharger coolant pump? The symptons sound about right and the answer is no to the question. Fuel permitting you should be able to hoof it all day long. Thanks
Did you get it from a dealer recently, if so any warranty. Easily fixed by the way but a pain all the same.

yep... this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Johnson-CM30P7-1-CM30-Pump-S...
Commonly referred to as an IC pump but Charge air circ pump is the correct name. The older pump was not upto scratch and so many owners went with the US Johnson pump but the newer Mercedes bosche pumps are much better - if you get it replaced these days it's better to go with the Merc pump IMO...either way your car will feel much better, good luck.
Hi, thanks for your help...so far. I got the Johnson CM30 pump off ebay from CKS performance and had it fitted by my local Merc specialist, went to try it yesterday evening, and no improvement
The specialist can't seem to think of any other causes for the problem, and it is difficult for them to simulate on roadtest for obvious reasons
Any more help would be appreciated!

Sorry to hear that. Are there no codes recorded to give a clue? Also how about the fuel supply, how long ago was the filter changed? If the kompressor decides to shutdown I would have thought a code would be recorded to indicate the condition.

I did read a while back about an E55 with power loss being caused by the fuel tank being low and a vacuum restricting the flow of fuel. I don't think it is a common fault but you never know.
If all else fails go to a Merc dealer and bend over.
Problem solved, took the technician on roadtest with me and took the diagnostic computer as well, intake temp was running at over 70c when gentle cruising and was over 100c within seconds of using the supercharger.
I remarked that I would of thought the Johnson pump should of helped just a little bit, he replied that he was surprised the whole car was not running cooler and was not sure how the auxilary pump made much difference to the 'charger
Turns out they did not realise the E55 had a seperate cooling pump for the supercharger and had replaced the auxilary pump on the main cooling system
Anyway... pumps swapped over, free of charge and problem solved...it's like a completely different car...Happy Days
