Two rounds two hits at 1.5 miles, whilst being shot at yikes That is some mighty impressive marksmanship.

"News of Harrison’s success comes amid concern over a rival insurgent sharpshooter who in a five-month spree has killed up to seven British soldiers, including a sniper, in and around the Taliban stronghold of Sangin."

I can see an Enemy At The Gates style sniper battle in the near future...

In answer to the question, "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?", a Marine said, "Recoil".

Good work.

The Times said:
Tom Irwin, a director of Accuracy International, the British manufacturer of the L115A3 rifle, said: “It is still fairly accurate beyond 4,921ft, but at that distance luck plays as much of a part as anything.”
That's why he did it twice numbnuts.

I think that is the best reply I've ever heard to any question. Ever biggrin.

There already is one going on apparently. Claimed the lives of a few UK soldiers in the last few months.

Lefties simply don't seem to understand the concept that a soldier spends all day trying to kill the enemy, and when you've had mates killed, that you want to kill the enemy, so you are not upset about it at all.

So he fired a third shot and hit the enemy's weapon? Surely you cant hit such a small target at that distance!

Well, you or I couldn't. In fact I couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo, or a barn if I was stood inside it. However, if this is true, thats some seriously impressive shooting.

I assume this was the .338 lapua?

Not bad for a £4000 rifle you can buy off the shelf and shoot at any full bore range...

The fool! He should have let another guy man the gun and tried to get highest score for the round nailed that world record way out of anyone else's reach.

I suspect AI will sell a few more rifles off the back of this story.

Good publicity! All the backyard snipers will be trading in their .50 BMG's... wink
