A big thank you to those who exist mainly in the TVR forums (and in real life!) who've supported me and sent supporting messages during the last 9 months, on Tuesday I achieve another goal by going back to work.
For those that don't know, last August, two weeks after the Growl, I suffered a fairly large bleed to the brain (a stroke) caused, it seems, by high blood pressure (I was on the phone to BT at the time complaining about lack of broadband
). I lost all feeling and use of my right hand side and was basically crippled.
Luckily my speech wasn't affected (I still talk crap!) and through determination (you can only have your arse wiped so many times by pretty little Filipino nurses!) and some excellent physioterrorists I could sort of walk (enough to get to the toilet) after about 3 weeks, and as such was discharged.
My wife Ceri (my little ginger rottweiler) has had to put up with so much it's untrue, and above and beyond my needs she has been a rock, my love and admiration for her was high before, but it really knows no bounds now.
I'm also pleased to say that I will be attending the growl this year, not sure if I will be driving Katie Griff, that's the next goal on my list, so Ceri may have to take that duty, but either way I look forward to joining you all again, and if Ceri drives there's less chance of the expensive Optimax Diesel upgrade I tried to force on poor Katie last time!
A big thank you to Bob and Julian for extending my Ride Drive voucher from the auction last year - very much appreciated and I hope to use that this year.
I will say that my condition\illness is unusual in someone my age (39) and I had never really suffered with high blood pressure (the odd slightly high reading) but I would say to all be aware and keep an eye on it - nose bleeds, pink face, too much fat, too much beer etc etc for the sake of a visit to the docs and maybe a tablet a day, it's got top be worth it.

I don't know you mate but I'd like to thank you for posting that and to wish you all the best in your recovery.
Sometimes real life bites and sends everything else to the back of the queue. You still have your sense of humour obviously and that's really going to help.

Good to hear how well you are covering - hope your driving the Griff soon.
Take note everyone - I'm 55 and have absolutely no history or symptoms of high blood pressure but when I went in for an eye operation last year my reading was massively high and they nearly didn't go ahead with it and told me to see (ha ha - no pun intended) my doctor straight away.
I'm on tablets now and everything is back to normal but it's a bit of a warning to anyone of a certain age (39 does seem rather young though) to get these things checked.
