Have you tried re-setting the Stack ?

You need to sit in the drivers seat, have drivers door open, ignition off, press the little button on the steering column (keep it pressed in)and then turn the ignition on so all lights come on but engine doesn't start.

Wait a few seconds. Needles will fly about all over the place and then everything should be re-set to zero.

Try that. Sounds a bit bizzare but that is the re-set procedure.

Good luck

I had a similar problem which turned out to be a faulty speedo sensor, once replaced worked fine.

I have read elsewhere that a corroded battery earth will effect the electrics, most noticably the temperature readout which will suddenly rise when the heater fan is switched on (mine rises 10 degreees when the fan is on full - something to sort out this week I think)- might that be linked to your problem?

hummm could be the spedo problem has been for a couple of weeks now but last week I left my lights on and had to jump the car, after this my temp has only reached 70deg max, which i thought was strange, also I did get up to 100deg in traffic a month ago which suddenly jumped to 105 then 114 in a second so could be linked.

what kind of cost dis you have to fix the problem.

Kind regards

Simon

I had a flat battery some time ago which led to a load of weird readings.

I Re-set the stck and all was back to normal. Try that first before spending any money on anything else.
