Fitting new head gasket set

Guys - the time (finally) approaches....
One question, does the head gasket set go on dry, or is something extra needed to help bond or anything?
(S1 2.8)

I haven't done many head gaskets but the ones I've done have always been dry.

Take a look at the Scorpio engine link in the useful links wiki
V6 engine section and you will see the whole job described very well
Torques, where to apply sealant etc etc

I'll know on friday if I need to do mine...

Looks like 2.9 EFI is the picture - not same as me (2.8i) does this matter do you think?

Sorry again Ed I didnt notice you had a 2.8... but for your original question its the same ... i.e. dry
but ignore the torques and sequences on there in case they are different as I believe the 2.8 re-uses head bolts and does not use the Torx (stretch) bolts so they will be different.

The answer seems to be Hylomar Blue sealant. There was me thinking it was either green or red !!

I used Hylomar Blue when fitting my head gasket, but I've got the 2.9.

Well, progress... one head now fitted using Hyl. blue.. sure it'll be fine
