Two Questions Please
Discussion
Hi,
As per a previous post, new to the lotus scene and have two questions
1. In my local John menzies or WH Smiths or whatever, I can never find a magazine for lotus, does anybody know of one?
2. before I sign on the line for a 220 exige, is there any worth in exploring an n/a car with a view to a bolt on kit, 4-10k in cost on cars, 2k? on a bolt on kit. Financial/mechanical suicide (def want the exige - dont know why, just do)
thanks in advance (and apologies if this sends us down a similar path to the other standard v's tuner thread at the moment)

Not really qualified to comment on your second question but as for the first I'm not aware of any magazine, but if you're looking for info and you're not already aware of it try www.seloc.org

if your looking at a exige S 220 then you need to negotiate the performance pack (240) for it, costs the factory next to nothing and will cost you £££ to have it done later.Lotus Club International has the only dedicated magazine I have ever seen: http://www.grouplotus.com/cars/join_lotus_club.htm...
Hi guys,
thanks for the comments and help.
Im sure im not the only one but I do really enjoy working my way through books, magazines and research before any potential purchase, especially when its got an engine. (before anybody else feels the need to mention i sound as tight as two coats of paint, its true, i am indeed a jock, although thankfully do not have the traditional celtic rouge locks - ie im tight but not ginger).
I have read many posts about honda conversions, katana kits etc but being totally honest its all a bit above my head and probably my driving skills.
My thoughts are pretty much now to get a 220 and to spend a max of 26k although the exiges are moving like sh*t off a shovel and Ive missed the last 4 I fancied.
I am now thinking of trying to haggle on a 240 as the cars around the 29/30k mark seem to be sitting for quite a bit longer, with a bit of haggling a 27.5k 240 would be perfect, and may even have a built in safety on next years residuals (I am open to criticism that im onto plums if I think i'll pick one up at that price).
Anyway, if i can find the right car Im going to get the driving skills honed first and then think about more power.
Thanks for your help on this and feel free if there is any points that I havent considered on the car/spec/cost front
cheers
