I'm considering buying a CL or S Class in the near future so would appreciate some advice.
Budget dictates that the car is unlikely to be any later than a 2004 but as I want the DVD comand, it won't be any older than a 2003 either. Ideally less than 70,000miles on the clock and either the 5.0l, AMG or 6.0l but apart from that, I'm open to ideas. So... what should I be looking out for?
I've seen some bumpf on the 6.0l that it's more economical than the 5.0l as it shuts down half the engine in urban cycle but is this true? Any known faults, do they rust in any particular places?
Any info gratefully received.

The 600 does shut down one bank of cylinders on gentle throttle, but this is only on the pre facelift non-turbo model. If you want DVD COMAND then it will be the twin turbo engine without the cylinder shutdown. The Turbo 600 is biblically fast, it probably edges a 55AMG but does it all with very little fuss or drama. The 55AMG is also very rapid & has the soundtrack to go with it.
