Automatic choke?
Discussion
Ive just inherited a very nice H reg Audi Coupe , the 2.0 model which is a great little car (I always wanted an RS2!)
The only problem is that it when you start it up the choke doesnt appear to be working - the throttle is unresponsive until it warms up and the revs surge. It had a service 5 months ago where they checked the vacume hoses and I think may be a vacume hose thats come off the automatic choke
Does this sound like an accurate prognosis or can anyone lend some suggestions.

Not 100% certain but I doubt that it's a vacuum hose, more likley to be a duff temperature sensor. The EFi will take a reading from a coolant temp sensor and if it's cold it will richen up the mixture until it warms up. Not sure about your car but some have a 5th injector that runs only when cold, an equivalent of the choke if you like.
Check out one of the specialist Audi sites, they will probably give you more accurate info. Try www.s2central.com , I know it's mainly for S2's but there are some good mechanics on there.
