Argh - can't access my live account - Help

Having a nightmare!
The Xbox has RROD'd so went onto xbox.com to get the UPS label etc, but I can't remember the password for my windows live account. As i set it up approx 2 years ago, the alternate email address is an old work address so I can't get a password reset email.
I logged a support call, but they say my information doesn't match so can't do anything and to create a new live account.

If I do this, I guess I will lose my gamertag and all my gamer history, XP, etc - but will I also lose my xbox live membership?

Any other way I can get access to my live aco does anyone know?

Good luck with that- iv had same problem for over a year, cant upload photos etc or get on forza website, iv even told MS the card i use for payment, they still wont reset my password for me, bunch of wkers, you wont get any luck for live support, or atleast i havnt.

Last email; i sent didnt even get a reply.

Is it not the same as your Hotmail password if it's Windows Live ? If it is, maybe you could try and reset your password through Hotmail (forgotten password) and it will let you get into xbox.com ?

I have no idea if this will work or if indeed I am spouting a load of cr4p ? It's just an idea that may help you

Great idea J - I tried it but no joy - looks like live, hotmail etc all use the same login process - bugga

guess I'm going to have to lose it all and see if the xbox live membership still works when i get a replacement

It would appear you associate a Windows Live ID with an Xbox profile, so it would appear your Xbox profile should be safe and recoverable once you link a Windows Live Account ?

Have a proper read first and be happy with it yourself before having a go, but it seems ok ?

Maybe call MS just to be sure......

At the end of the day, MS have all the info stored, and to not help is a bit low in my book !!
