Hey team,
20th of June is coming up faster than a uni student on Meow Meow...

So we've had a lot of sunny days for riding, just wondered how everyone is going?
Personally not too bad....doing 40/45 Km's twice a week. + a long climb

Also what's everyone riding?

Mods: if there is not a sticky for the team can you do the honours...

Hmm, think I'd better step up from my regular weekend 25 miles offroad with a cakestop (or 2) smile

Definitely ditched the idea of doing the ride on my singlespeed, so will be on my Cannondale F4 with slicks.

I'm not doing so well.

I might hang at the back and chat up the yummy mummies on their shoppers.

Swerni, you'll be passing me again on your ride back home when I'm about half way there!

56 miles this week (pretty hard after being out of the saddle for two weeks due so a sinus infection).

I like your thinking Garlick, might have to help some of them up the Ditchling!

Riding a not very suitable Kona Blast MTB (rigid + slicks)

Completed a 30 mile charity road ride last Sunday, and a 10 mile off-road MTB ride yesterday. I was completely knackered after both yikes

Looks like my L2B will be a slow but steady journey.

Garlick, at least you'll have company en route spin

Been commuting in 2-3 times a week 13miles each way, did a duathon a few weeks back on the S3, got out with the Dartford Seeders/WhiteOak Tri squad on Sunday just gone for a 50mile ride from Dartford to Rochester and back.

nothing now until weekend after next as am limited by work commitments - running and swimming will keep the fitness up just not the cycling frown

So far I am about 1,100 miles YTD commuting, however this is irrelevant.
I am going to be keeping the missus company.
She has done two outings (10 miles each) on the bike since last July when she gave birth to another little one.
Slightly worried about her being able to finish, although she claims running after 2 kids under 3 keeps her fit.
Both of us on HT MTBs with slicks.

Tell her to go and do a 30 miles ride... if she comes back and found it do-able then I'd say she's keeping fit enough.

Running after the kids like that keeps you tired... not fit.. just ask my wife wink

Things going quite well here, and i'm looking forward to the main event.

I've been managing to keep my average weekly distance over 100km for the last few weeks.

I'll be on this...

I've been a bit I'll this week so I've not ridden at all

Today I managed to get out and do a very enjoyable 21 mile road route. Felt good actually, and has given me a good base for this weeks riding smile

I'm not doing that well either. The main problem for me is the tree pollen and resultant asthma. I can get out and do a couple of good laps of Richmond Park, but I'll be in wheezy pain for the rest of the night. frown

MUST get out a few nights this week, or I shall be starting to worry about my ability to finish this thing.

Mine needs a good service, I'm going to have to get my hands dirty if the weather stays nice and I keep racking up the miles...

Looking forward to getting my PH jersey now!

The hills of Wales are really beginning to do me in with the singlespeed, riding pretty comfortably on the flat, but the big climbs are hitting hard. Been fitting in 25 miles every Sunday and that feels okay, gunna try and do a 35-40 mile route in the next few weeks, and I am riding everywhere at the moment instead of walking, every little helps and all that! I find the heat definitely has a negative effect, so hopefully starting early in the morning will avoid that...

Is there any news on the comms plan for the website? The sooner we get something going the more money we should be able to raise.

8 frown

But my recovery rate is better and the steroids seem to be dealing with the asthma finally.

Also managed a 23 minute lap of Richmond Park, which is a smile

25.4 miles last night around the hills of the Kentish Weald. 2 hrs 1 min - not that I'm counting wink

Feeling it today, though. I shall resume my training tonight, in the pub beer
