Just had a quote from the guys above, not sure if they have a problem with where i live or a computer error but they wanted in excess of £2000 premium on a classic policy, a little higher than the £225 i have been quoted elsewhere.

anyone else found them pricey?

Very: £500+ for their TVRCC approved policy, or £385 for their non-approved policy. Went with Classicline in the end - £214.

Yep they tried tucking me up with an overpriced quote. I went with Mannings and have given them 2 new customers as well.

would not use the above after the carry on my G/F had with cancelling a policy after chaging cars as they wanted a fortune to change over so went else where and got next to no money back got about £100 back on a policy that cost £500 after only 2 months in

Mannings on the other hand first class price and good cover and track cover too.

when flux first got the appointment for the tvrcc i tried them and not only did the guy not know what a mark adam tornado chip was he seemed totally unfamiliar with usual mods on rv8 engined tvr's
to the extent that he actually suggested rr the car with standard chip then tornado to show bhp difference

i stayed with allianz/manning limited policy

+1 for Mannings as well. A Flux quoted me £650 on the phone and by letter £2000.?? I found better service from Mannings and a much better price. They also seemed to want my custom. Don't know why the tvrcc changed.

Well, this should be interesting, I'm gonna call flux next week for s quote for the t350c, I know insurance in n.I. Is a bit more expensive than the mainland but it will be interesting to get their quote.
I will keep you all informed as to the quote and the treatment they offer!

+ APLAN best quote, a human answers the phone and they know what they are insuring. The stAlbans office handles TVRS. A fluccckxx cancellation is horrendous

Anyone know what sort of uplift Flux or Mannings are likely to have when you have a couple of sp50's?

Will be looking for new insurance next month and the mob I am with (they are advertising a lot on tv at the moment) are total and utter craxxxxx rubbish.

So far I have had excellent service from Adrian Flux, and a very good price (same to a pound or two as last year).

What is more to the point is that they dealt very fairly and efficiently with a claim that I made 2 or 3 years ago when a wheel parted company from one of my cars.

Ive no gripe with Flux, they were well beaten on price and package this year though by A Plan who didnt need my NCB, so savings all round. The true test of course occurs when you need them!

Based on this straw poll, you would have to wonder how they came to be the TVRCC approved insurer, particularly after all of the positive feedback about others such as Manning.

Asside from the hopelessly uncompetitive pricing, I was struck by a lack of knowledge of the cars from Flux - one question I was asked when getting a quote: is the car an import? (after I had given the make and model).

Manning offered the best package e.g. trackdays
Classicline were cheapest (by a long way)
Flux were most expensive

If you look at the threads on TVR insurance over the last couple of years people were slagging off Mannings as being too expensive & that Hagerty were the best thing since sliced bread......

At least for the moment Flux are another option to try......I wonder how long it will be, in the current economic climate, before other insurance companies start telling their brokers they will no longer insure performance cars like TVR's

Flux have been very modified-car friendly for my Corrado offering an agreed value with all mods insured and retained salvage.

But my TVR is with Mannings and has been for a few years.
