The Wire - Worth £60?

[turbotongue]

I know there are threads about the wire on here but I just want a simple answer to a simple questions without having the plot ruined.

Is it worth me shelling out 60 of my hard earned pounds on the compete series? I really enjoyed the Soprano's and judging by the reviews I see online this potentially tops it.

Have you looked on FleeceBay? There may be the box set cheaper than £60 if you are prepare to bid

[mybrainhurts]

It'll be in Tesco for a fiver before you can fart twice....

[Gun]

Definitely worth £60 IMO.

[Ross1988]

Depends if you can afford to miss the odd day from work that you will spend in bed watching an entire series in one go.

If so yes

If no then....yes

[hairykrishna]

Yes.

[RedLCRB0b]

[andy_s]

You can buy my complete set(played once) for £45.....if you are interested?

[Lurking Lawyer]

It would be worth it for the entertainment value alone, but you'll get a fairly substantial chunk of that back if you ebay it once you've finished with it.

[Slaav]

Am working my way through the early seasons one set at a time!

It has been a few weeks since finished S2 and have this morning bought S3 so say goodbye to the weekend Mrs Slaav....

I would agree with the above - only buy the full box set if you are prepared to ruin the next few weeks by getting nothing else done!!! My PB was 4 episodes in one session

And fk yeah.... £60 is only a couple of caps after all - I think that is the parle? (Or however you spell it)

Balls, was about to post the same thing

[toasty]

I just saw the West Wing boxset on Amazon for £35.

Now that's a major bargain.

[st_files]

Along with The Sopranos (waiting for the Blu ray boxset) the best TV I've ever seen.

Definitely worth £60 (You'll be able to find it cheaper surely?)

[Cub911]

Thoroughly recommend it....enough said.

[Famous Graham]

Yes, yes, and thrice yes.

[davepoth]

Definitely yes. About £1 an episode for the best TV series ever.
