Gaz springs needing a home

Hi Guys,

As part of my on-going work on the S2, I have a set of Gaz springs (Springs only) that would like a new home. These are the standard 8" ones previously fitted to some Gaz Nickels and rated at 300lb. I would say they have had about 2000 miles worth of use and so are pretty much brand new.

If anyone out there wants to uprate there's, I am located in Bucks, free to anyone collecting or just the postage fee.

I would be interested (by post) - I have 275's on the back of the V8S and IMHO they are a bit soft.

Does anyone know if gaz springs and Avo springs are the same type?

I think they are but it would be good to confirm.

If Chris doesn't take them I will (also by post), similar issue with rear ones - would like slightly harder.

Mark you take them I have enough to do as it is.

I think I am going to put my 325's that are on the front on the rear and go for 375's on the front.

Anyone have a similar setup?

Will this end up being really harsh?

I have 400 front and 300 rear. I used to have 350 on the front but found them to be too soft. The front is stiff, but alot less roll than before.

The front of mine stiffened up with the SH drop links and reduced roll alot, my issue now is sit down on acceleration and rear roll, therefore a step up on the rear should do the trick.

IIRC (got paperwork at home) I have the 325/275 setup which I think is what Derek at Abshocks supplies as standard. If the 300s above don't work then I'll probably do the same as you Chris.

Chris I also assume your post above means you don't want them? If so then Keith please send me a cost and I'll paypal you the money for the postage.

I followed Jed-S's example -

and put 450lb on the front and 375lb on the rear. I'm really pleased with the result - very supple and stable, not harsh at all.

Same here..

The reason they are going is that my original setup of 375lb front and 300lb rear where a little soft. I also had to compress th springs quite a lot to get a decent gap between the floor and my exhaust...

I was going to go for 425 front but they seem quite hard to find. Bought some 450's and have rotated the 375's to the back which really reduces the movement under hard acceleration....

300lb's on the back are good though I still needed to tighten up the springs to get the ride height just right...
