Paint code P422 1785

[Elfit]

I have a 1990 S with the usual stone chips, scuffs and scratches.

I am having great problems in finding paint to match (just for touching up etc, not a respray). I can't even find out what name it was called.

If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.

I have not been able to find anything with your code on the ICI/NEXA website, could you please check your code again.

Edit to add, on paper I have found 1785B as charcoal grey which is a TVR colour only and nexa do not have a formulation in waterbase, if this is the right colour you will need to find a supplier or paintshop that still has some solvent paint or have a look at paint chips to find a near match.

Yes the code is correct. There is another guy on the S forum who has same.
Charcoal Grey sounds about right

Yes a lot of paint is now waterbase due to the save the planet brigade, a lot of solvent products have changed to become complient with solvents being taken out but adding more isocyanate if thats spelt right to compensate.
To me which is worse.
The paint companies have now moved the goalposts from we can supply you with solvent paint because you are a specialist, to we are going to double the price to stop you using it.
We also spray fridges and there are no restrictions on using solvent paint for these, just automotive restrictions.

Sounds like things are going well.

O/S was perfect before the bad day, is it revealing shock transfer through the body to the other side now?

Jason will clarify if you need, he did say the mirrors would see the gun though.

Andrew at surface and design has done a great bit of detective work and come up with a match.
It's charcoal grey metallic.
