Juddering in 1st gear.

Over the last few weeks I've noticed an increasing sensation of juddering when pulling away in 1st. It's not in any other gear. The clutch fluid level is fine.
It got the point on the weekend that I was pulling away in second when stuck in traffic for ages.
Any ideas or advice on things I can check would be greatly appreciated.
