aldeburgh fish and chips

queued for half an hour this lunchtime but the cod was lovely...chips could have done with a bit more time in the fat, but perhaps it was too busy.

Aldeburgh fish and chips are awesome.

Last time I went to Aldeburgh we bought some cans of White Lightning cider (yes I am that classy) and ate our fish and chips by The Scallop to the accompaniment of the setting sun. Wonderful.

had to drive back to Kettering so no booze for me, but ate it on the beach in the sunshine and it was lovely...am a bit burnt I think

I had the Aldeburgh fish and chips experience a few weeks back,and I was expecting something wonderful...it was a great dissapointment.

Have had far better from a Brixham fish and chip shop.


eta the Aldeburgh cod was fresh and good...but the chips were poor

I've had F&C plenty of times in Aldeburgh & they have been OK but nothing more than that. Definitely not worth waiting in a queue for 1/2 hour when I get much better in my local.

Both are run by the same people and are of equal quality in my experience, which is very good.

Brixham? Brixham? there is a single chippy in Brixham which is even close to being edible- and that's one used by the locals- ALL the ones on the sea front are, without fail, dreadful.

Good one in Torquay though.

The one in Brixham was the one used by the locals and I'm recalling a fish and chip supper from 7 years ago.
The best one in Torquay is (I think) called Greenleys, bought some there a couple of weeks ago.
