Holden back in Tuscans

Sponsorship secured and ready to go

Mystery still surrounds the entry list for this year's TVR Tuscan Challenge, with the first race now only weeks away.

TVR racer Andy Holden is one of the confirmed entries however. He's secured backing from Warwickshire based IMR to compete in a full season of the 2004 TVR Tuscan Challenge.

IMR (International Metal Recyclers Limited) pitched in with sponsorship at last year's PistonFest where Andy was exhibiting his car.

Owner David Piper commented, “We attended the Thruxton round in 2003 and Andy exceeded all expectations by coming home in 9th place in his first finish.  We really enjoyed being part of the team - there is nothing quite like the Tuscans in British motor sport and we were hooked!  We are delighted to back Andy in the TVR for the 2004 series ”.

As in 2003, Holden will drive the number 6 car, prepared and supported by Insane Racing’s Steve Howard.

As ever more sponsors are welcome...!

PH will be supporting Andy this year and providing a PHer's meeting point at some of the rounds.

Andy, good news with the sponsorship. I am sure you and your sponsors will have a ball this year.

Im planning on attending Donnington and Oulton (and may even get to Croft), so will look forward to supporting you in the fight against the might, so to speak.

Thanks guys

Hard to believe that the season starts in 4 weeks time!!

The car has had some TLC over the winter which should help with reliability. Plus we have a big weight saving with some new Dymag wheels

Hope to see you all at various circuits - should be fun!!

Where's that Rodney fellow gone? Its bloody quiet in here without the loveable old geezer....

I didn't want to spoil your post by popping in and adding my two pennyworth of congrats, for being such a famous and much hailed hero of many Tuscan seasons, I didn't want to overshadow you Anyway, since I'm here, well done whippersnapper, and once you learn to drive it properly, you too can become as great Tuscaneer, not as great as me, but hey, we all have to live with our limitations

HE'S ALIVE!!!!

I have much to learn, master, but the Tuscaneers of yester year have retired. Who is there to guide me....?

Darth Caroline: too bloody fast by far

Keen - too young, doesn't drink (and a bit quick)

Young Master Stockton - also a bit quick when he's not in a spin

5 Bonnets: his version of 'use the force' involves a solid object (tyre wall, other competitor) to deccelerate the vehicle

Besides, I've tried that and didn't much like it!

No 5: no car

Obi Wan29 Well versed in the ways of the Blackpool jedi, but partly converted to the Luton massive

Are you coming to Donny 29/220?

O.K, It would appear that you are in need of a "symbol" of the force I have installed in you over your many months of training, and the "masters" presence is still much needed, fear not OB6cannotB, for I am going to send you a spirt guide, "Monkee".

He has recently been made homeless as the new owner of the fantastic 29 car felt that it would be wrong for "monkee" to be anywhere else then in the Tuscan Challenge, and with a driver that would love and cherish him, I agree.

What greater sacrifice can one make to help and protect a fellow Tuscaneer then to pass on the embodyment of all that is good, honest, skillfull, and "force blessed", the one and only, Tuscan 29 "Monkee". He will guide you through the darkness and bring you to the "light"

Donnington, don't know whats happening on the Vauxhall front yet, still waiting

Er...not true sir !

The fellow was returned so that he could bring his powers to bear in whatever form of competition that the former associate chose to enter into...even if it was/is to be a Luton thingy...as I belived it to be a "personal thing" rather than a "car thing"...correct me if wrong, but I don't think "monkee" was around in the JCW days ?

Nevertheless, if it is decreed that his place should be with an existing Tuscaneer, then so be it.

Uncle Rodney

This is just the sort of gesture that I have come to expect from such an ambassador of the sport.

I am touched - truly touched

I do, however, forsee [montypythonmodeon] one small problem [/montypythonmodeoff].

This chap already resides on the No 6 roll cage:

I'm not convinced the dog will accept the monkee? I don't want to be distracted going through Craner Curves by the animals having a ruck on the roll cage...

I'd be more concerned about them having a fk than a ruck! Last thing you need is for the car to be full of little donkees by the time you get to Redgate

sorry I didn't get on this sooner, but just got back from Sweden, doing a spot of skiing and ice racing with the loony 27 swedish chef, bloody cold there, makes this place feel like we're in a heatwave.

With those fists already curled up your mascot looks well ready for a bit of trouble and capable of taking on any monkee...even one blessed with 'the force'

This could get out of hand. I don't want my Tuscan roll cage looking like the rear parcel shelf of some soppy 18 year old girlie's Fiesta - full of stuffed toys

Someone will suggest a box of tissues by the gearlever, a Snoopy airfreshener and Westlife CD next
