iv'e got all the information on how to start sprinting, i could just do with your ideas on what you feel is the best and cheapest car to race.
i really wanted a kit car but i now realise i havn't got the space to store one.
cheers for any ideas.

what are the safety requirements to enter? i thought i needed a rollcage fitted?
Not a requirement.
However, you will need a BS helmet and a fireproof BS racesuit.
A national B Non-Race licence will have to be applied for too.
Check the MSA website out.

In most series the lowest (in terms of cheapest cars to buy and run!) class is for standard road cars under 1400cc. Rules out 205GTis and the like, but a 205XS or AX GT would be cheaper to run and much more affordable to insure as a fun road car too.
Check the regs, usually you're allowed to change very little to keep costs down. Once you're into stripping them out and fitting go-faster bits you'll be in the modified classes and up against some very serious cars.

this should help regarding the mods you can make to std road production classes. as mentioned you can turn up in a car with absolutely no mods whatsoever and still go home with a trophy!. popular cars in the road prod sub 1400cc class are suzuki swift gtis, 205 xs and citroen ax gt's.
if you are really interested, drop me an email and try to get to the bristol motor club sprint at Llandow sometime in May. I'll be there, possibly competing in the 205, so you can get a feel for sprints.

that was really helpfull cheers.
im not really looking to insure the car on the road because im already insured on my parents corsa and its not cheap
coz the corsa's modified (and my parents),i wanna get rid of this urge to speed, i wanna do this on a track rather than on a road.just incase i lose control of the car or get done for speeding.
are you allowed to lower the cars suspension?
i thought this would just make the car safer?
i do know someone who is selling an ax gt. i'll have to ask him how much he's selling it for.
oh and send off for the license.
