Polishing Header Tank and Swirl Pot

I am looking to purchase and install the ACT stainless steel coolant pipes and silcone hoses.

What in peoples opinion is the best way to polish the header tank and swirl pot. I have also seen a number of powder coated, camcoated and chome plated examples. What is the best approach?

I used a scothcbright pad to remove the pitting on mine (and they were very bad) the 320 wet & dry then polish like mad, once you have reached a shine desired it is easy to maintain.

Scotchbrite,Maguires Metal Polish and a Black & Decker Wizard with buffing wheels.

No substitute for elbow grease!



240 grit, 400 grit, 600grit, solvol autosol, then duraglit!

on castings you need to start with a file!
Engine front cover took 60 hours!
