How to clean my air filter
Discussion
Hi all,
Before we go any further, I have something to tell you all: my car has a K&N air filter. It came with it when I bought it and I promise that I *have* removed the "K&N: the world's finest air filters" sticker from the back window!
Because I live in the sticks, I often have to go through massive puddles - once recently I went through a bit too fast and the engine bay is now splattered with dried muddy water.
The air filter is of the cone type and must have got water and mud on it, not to mention all the other crap that must collect on it when it just does it's job.
I heard somewhere that you should take it off and let it soak in a bucket of petrol to clean it. Is this how it's done, or is there another way to clean it? Does it even need cleaning?
