What % of the asking price did you pay for your Elise?
Discussion
My first S1 I bought new so that's 100%..... I sold it within 24 hours @ 100% of asking price (obviously a bit less 9 years later) but the message is; how keenly is it priced?
My S2 Exige I got as part of a p/ex deal, but I negotiated an extra £500 in my favour (whether that was off the p/ex "book" price or the purchase who knows) but that would mean I paid about 97.9%.
If you are buying you can't assume that all asking prices are set(or inflated) to the same degree. It's all about condition and as they say on the antiques roadshow....provenance.

100% as Lotus had just announced the 240R.........with a 6 month wait.
About 88-90% when I bought my first Elise 9 years ago, as it was the end of December and the dealer had targets to meet, so I was able to get some of the spec from one of the packs thrown in on a car that was due in.

I paid about 95% of asking price for my 1998 S1 two and a half years ago.Had been looking around and knew what to avoid.Garage had it 2 hours when I put a deposit down.He said he had 11 callers within 24 hours so demand was high.Agree with what has been said - mine full documented service history 2 previous owners and my "must have" colour combination - Norfolk Mustard with green interior and hood.
Would have paid asking price if he had held out.
Could ask about a grand more for it now.

Yes, funny you should mention '"must have" colour combination'; the one I'm looking at wouldn't be my first choice for that reason. Although everything else seems OK so far though. To be fair it's more about the driving, right?Gassing Station | Elise/Exige/Europa/340R | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
