But I do have one of these devices, if they are set up properly they do have a positive afect on the cars performance

I've read reports ranging from "no discernable effect" to "complete waste of time"..

I bought one - ummmmm IMHO a waste of money unless you drive around town at 30 all the time. Makes no difference on motorways and modern EFI systems cut off the fuelling on over-run anyway. I couldn't detect any difference in performance (V6 Mondeo - oi, no laffing at the back!) and fuel consumption was unaffected (I do 1000m/week).

Save your money - buy some instead!

If this is one of those electric turbo things, don't bother. Spend 10mins and do the maths. It will not make any difference at all.

I agree. Mate of mine put one of those electric turbo thingys on his scally Fiesta (Complete with strobe lights etc!). It didn't work. In fact he had to have the engine virtually rebuilt. Oh and then 1000 miles later the engine died and he had to get a new one (Fortunatly for him it was still under warranty )
