Hmmm, look at the front wheels of this...

Hope I ain't waisting anyone's time here, cos I don't have a vette yet, but i do spend every minute in work and at home looking at corvettes on the web. Found this one on autotrader, http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD_web/servlet/media?id=65380992
the front wheelare are pointing backwards, which is wrong. Why? Has he swapped both front wheels to even tyre wear?
She's "only" £6450, 1989, 68kmiles. no uk owners yet. If only i had the cash! I'd love her.
What do you guys think?

Careful, I think that guy has that advertised for £5995 somewhere (autotrader? or www.findit.co.uk under american cars).
On ebay he's mentioned that a few things need sorting. I know it's been mentioned on this forum that C4s are "cheap to run and fix" but remember that's comparative - next to a Ferrari they're dirt cheap to maintain, next to a Fiesta they're not so cheap: like £100 front brake pads, £200+ per wheel bearing or £150-200 for one tyre.
I wouldn't say the price is that special, probably a bit cheaper than most but figure in the things it needs and whaddya know, it's probably about right!
Love the way they always put things like "these usually sell for 10k plus" maybe at Claremonts they do, meanwhile back in the real world.
Sorry for the scepticism, but if I had a car worth 10 grand, I'd have it for sale for, guess what, 10 grand!

Here's the other ad where it's £5995:
www.findit.co.uk/cars/american/cars/1069155.htm
Also love the "typical dealer exaggeration" of performance: 0-60 in 5.0 and 165 mph top speed whereas contemporary road tests at the time said more like: 0-60 5.3, top end 153
Sorry I can't stop now: it has marks on the paint, wheels need a refurb, seats have "no major wear", one electric window not working, heater not working properly, handbrake faulty. Anything else.
Also I'd like to know how someone fitted new 18" tyres on 17" wheels!
Car has later (ZR1) alloys it says, no it doesn't, it has the right alloys for the year.
If you were interested it's probably worth a look. Don't take a b*llsh*t detector though, it'll probably go off the scale...

Tend to agree. The heater matrix is a weak point on these cars. How does he know it's not leaking? Has he taken it apart? No, because you have to strip most of the dash down to get at it (I know, I've done it). Wanna know why the handbrakes don't work? Because people leave it in Park so they don't roll away and never use the (clumsy and awkward) handbrake). Good interior "for a Corvette" so "not very good". Tyres aren't that much and aren't 18's as pointed out.
The big bugbear of these cars is the electronic instrument pack. They dry out and crack and have to be rebuilt or replaced, GM changed them on later models for good reason.
Overall, the C4 is a cracking car but I bought my first C4 on the cheap and had to spend £1200 on it (instrument pack failed, handbrake cables seized, heater matrix steamed up the windows - sound familiar?)but best to buy one that has been maintained to a high standard, no expense spared. They do exist. The L98 engine 1985-1991 produces between 235 and 250bhp depending on year and the 1992 on C4 produces 300bhp. 1991 saw the revised dash.
I'm not putting anyone off, just approach it with your eyes open.
Wheels are marked with the side they go on to maintain the pattern rotation. Probably someone has fitted directional tyres wrongly or just hasn't noticed!
