Just been reminded of something I was going to ask by the other 993 dials posting - Don't want to go to the hassle of changing the whole unit (as I don't mind Kms having had LHD now for 4 years) but does anyone know if there is a quick way of changing the computer to read in miles not kms?

Manufacturers had a habit of producing one unit (obviously to save cost) that could easily be switched by them but not everyone, ie: they certainly don't tell you in the handbook. (I know the BMW M5s have a silly turn ignition to position one, pull stork towards you for three seconds etc way of doing the same thing - the Porsche one may be similar or have a switch on the back?).

Any thoughts?

On my boxster there was a way to do this by turning the ignition on and instead of pressing the odometer reset button in you turned it to the left for 5 seconds!?!? Hey presto it would change between KMS and Miles!
Hope this helps as maybe Porsche carried this through from there earlier models.

Sorry, haven't a clue. Never bothered me. Try the below suggestion, if not pull the main dial out, and there are a load of switches at the back - perhaps one of them changes it....
